 Scrimmage Game – Took place Saturday before Easter Sunday at Englewood Gym off Curry Ford Rd. which is an amazingly beautiful gym and concept of offering kids a free access not only to play and practice basketball but also to weight room, exercise room, rooms with table tennis and pool plus other activities – very impressive!
Reception and energy at Englewood Gym was fabulous. Audience was great and eager to watch a good basketball game between two 15u teams. After the game Englewood Gym offered hot dogs, chips and drinks to the players of both teams. Once again Englewood Gym deserves an A+ for the overall organization of this scrimmage game!! We will gladly come back for another game!!
NEWEUROPE™ Orlando Jr. Team (in blue team jerseys) vs. Englewood Allstars Team (in white team jerseys). Four 10 minute quarters were played without time stoppage for free throws. Two refs were present.
Score: 1st Qtr: 14:6; 2nd Qtr: 24:13; 3rd Qtr: 35:22; Final score: 49:40 in favor of NEWEUROPE Orlando (NEO) Jr. Team.
NEO started with excellent 3-pt shooting from Kevin (1), Josh (8) and Lavius (32). NEO coach Josh was substituting all five players often – giving everyone a chance to play. As usual Lavius (32) had a monster block from behind of a layup and almost an amazing alley-oop to dunk move but he was pushed by a defensive player in the last moment but the crowd went aaaah anyway!!

 Scrimmage Games – NEWEUROPE Orlando (15u) played two scrimmage games in two days with A.I.D. Marcelo Silva 15u junior basketball team from Caracas, Venezuela at RDV Sportsplex in Orlando, Florida. NEWEUROPE™ Orlando Jr. Team (Blue team jerseys Game 1, Gold team jerseys Game 2) vs. A.I.D. Marcelo Silva (black & white team jerseys).
The Venezuelan team was visiting Orlando for a week and receiving coaching from tNBA (The National Basketball Academy) coaches including Jack Lutzeier that also coaches Magic Camps and Junior Magic. Two 20 minute halves were played for each Game. Official ref present – Carlton Burke. Assistant Ref – (part of tNBA)
Game 1 Score: 1st 20 min half score: 34:21; Final score: 55:51 in favor of A.I.D. Marcelo Silva team.
Game 2 Score: 1st 20 min half score: 23:15; Final score: 39:34 in favor of A.I.D. Marcelo Silva team.
It was clear that A.I.D. Marcelo Silva team had more experience, coaching and playing time together than NEWEUROPE Orlando team did. Still the games were pretty competitive and gave everyone a taste of NEWEUROPE Tournaments NEJB plans to have in Orlando soon also to include visiting junior basketball teams from Europe and Central and Latin America. Limited stands at RDV were full with parents and fans!!
Best scorers for NEO Jr. Team for either Game were Josh 8 (PG – 20pts), Kevin 1 (SG – 16 pts) Robert (SG – 12 pts), Emanuel 25 (SF – 12 pts), Jalen 3 (SG – 10 pts), Elijah (PF) and Victor (SG) and other NEO Team players contributed as well.

 Scrimmage Game – Took place at Orlando Sports Center. NEWEUROPE™ Orlando Jr. Team (in blue practice jerseys) vs. Lake Nona Allstarz Team (in white team jerseys). Two 20 minute halves were played. Two refs were present – Carlton Burke and Trish Duncan.
Score: 1st 20 min half score: 34:6; 2nd 20 min half score: 34:19; Final score 68:25 in favor of NEWEUROPE Orlando (NEO) Jr. Team. Free Gatorade in bottles was provided to both teams by NEJB.
NEO played well, with lots of steals and fast break scoring opportunities, good shooting, 8 blocked shots, and an excellent defense. Best scorers for NEO Jr. Team were Kevin (SF – 20 pts), Josh (PG – 18pts), Joshua (SG – 14 pts), Emanuel (SF – 10 pts), Elijah (PF) and Victor (SG) and other NEO Team players contributed as well.
